| Brief Detail: | Cares for patients with hematologic and oncologic malignancies in collaboration with on-site Oncologists. Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients. Conducts patient interviews, and collects and interprets diagnostic data. Performs physical examinations and specialized procedures under the direction of a physician. Orders laboratory and radiology studies, chemotherapy, and prescription medications. Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records. Educates patients in areas of procedures, pharmacology, self-management of side effects and available community resources. Counsels patients and families. Performs related responsibilities as required. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of California. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Oncology experience, OCN. |
